My old TV had multiple inputs, and a SVHS video output (along with RCA audio out) which my new TV lacks, forcing me to manually switch cables from multiple audio/video sources when I wanted to record anything on my DVD recorder. To make matters worse, it was a real pain to access the back of the DVD recorder where the connectors are. This inexpensive video switch solved the problem, and included a remote control unit which I was also able to use to easily program my universal remote. The connections are now almost as convenient as they were before. The connectors are also on the back of this switch, but now, I don't need to get to the back to switch connections, I just select the desired input using the remote control, (as I was able to do before, through my old TV) The only headache was finding another power outlet for that inconvenient "wall wart" power adaptor.
